The project ”CinePop” connects local musicians and local cinemas through the creation of a curated series of exciting, diverse and local music videos which are then screened before films in select cinemas. With the initiation of this project, filmgoers will now be presented with a glimpse into the vibrant local music scene, before their movie begins

 

The cooperation is built around the desire to encourage filmgoers to take a more active interest in local music, while encouraging musicians who are featured to organically promote the cinemas showcasing their music, and engage with the special opportunity to see their work on a big screen and in surround sound.  The desired effect would be the creation of a bridge between those two forms of art while creating a shared local community of film and music enthusiasts.

The first edition of Cinepop Zürich will be released end of March 2019.
